How to send a PDF for signing
- Create a free account. Enter your name, email address and a password, then confirm your email address using the link we send you.
- Create a new signing request. Give the document a name (e.g. “Tenancy agreement – 12 Example Street, Flat 2”), choose the PDF file and the document type.
- Add the signers. Enter each person’s name, role (e.g. landlord, tenant) and email address. A phone number is optional – add one and the link is sent by text message too.
- Pay and send. It costs €3 per signer, and you see the total before you pay.
What does the signer do?
The signer receives a personal link by email. They open the document in their browser, read it, agree to sign electronically and then sign by drawing their signature with a finger or mouse, or by typing their name. No account, app or printer needed.
The signed PDF
Once the last person has signed, everyone receives the signed PDF by email. A signing certificate is attached at the end of the document, listing the signers, timestamps, IP addresses and the document’s SHA-256 hash. The hash shows that the document hasn’t been changed after signing.
Signing PDFs: common questions
Can I sign a PDF on my phone?
Yes. The signer opens the link in their phone’s browser and signs by drawing with a finger or typing their name.
What if my document is a Word file?
Save it as a PDF first: in Word, go to File → Save As and choose PDF. Google Docs and Pages can export PDFs too.
How large can the PDF be?
Up to 10 MB, with up to 10 signers per document.
Is a PDF signed this way legally valid?
For most agreements, yes. Read when an electronic signature is enough – and when it isn’t.
